Description
What a complex set of readings we have to wrestle with today!
As we reach the penultimate week of the Easter Season, we are presented with Jesus’ words to his disciples on the night before he died. Jesus is telling his disciples that although he will no longer be with them, he will not leave them orphaned. Instead, he will send an “advocate,” one who can intercede on their behalf with the Father, just as Jesus has done while he was alive. Then Jesus’ followers are encouraged that they keep Jesus’ commandments.
