Description
This is the second week of a series where we take the time to pause and reflect after the busyness and sensory overload of Christmas.
Last week we reflected on the knowledge, the questions and the uncertainties that we have about God, and we also reflected on the Godly attributes that we want to display, or wear, in our lives. This week we take the time to reflect on who Jesus, the Word is, and the difference that Jesus makes for our world. We’ll also reflect on the many blessings and gifts that overflow from God to us.
All the resources, this week, are based on the reading from John 1:(1-9)10-18. Even though it’s a well-known reading it’s good to take the time to reflect on who the Word is, how the Word makes a difference, and who, around the world, may still be unfamiliar with the Word. Through games, discussions, writing and guessing challenges, and prayer, it is hoped that people may reflect on who Jesus is, and become more confident telling others about the difference that Jesus makes for our world.
The creative response is based on the John reading and the reading from Ephesians 1:3-14. It focusses on all that God has done for us, and the many ways that God continues to bless us. If you would like more resources based on the blessings found in Ephesians 1:3-14 please see Intergen’s resource Year B Pentecost 8.
All the resources are deliberately collaborative as we all have a lot to share with, and learn from, one another. And on a fun note, each of the resources have a title starting with the letter ‘w’. Why? Because we are focussing on the Word entering the world as a human and reflecting on all the wonderful ways which God blesses us.
