Description
Today’s passages encourage us to look at our hearts and to live into God’s ways of loving, forgiving and accepting forgiveness. How do we love those who have hurt us? How do we respond when we are the ones who have caused hurt and are shown love and grace? Can we offer forgiveness when we cannot see God’s bigger plan or how God might use this hurt for good?
Often when reading the Bible, we can be perplexed by the way God wants us to live as it’s so counter-cultural to the world around us. When we are being honest with ourselves, and with God, we may identify times when our intentions are for our own good and not actually for the good of those around us. One of today’s resources seeks to help us identify what can sometimes be hidden in our hearts.
As we try to love our enemies, today’s Psalm is full of encouragement for this. The Psalm leads us into prayer. It is a reminder to us to trust God and God’s ways so that Christ may shine brightly through us, pointing people to God.
