Easter Sunday

Free Resource

Description

Easter Day is for many churches the high point of the Christian calendar, the most joy filled celebratory service of the year. Coming at the end of Holy Week and following on from the drama of the Easter Thursday exploration of the Last Supper and foot washing, and the tension of Good Friday and the crucifixion, Easter Sunday marks the discovery of Jesus’ Resurrection from the grave – told in various ways in the different gospel accounts. The lectionary offers both the story from Matthew and the story from John this year. Whichever you choose, the story offers great opportunity for intergenerational engagement and deep wondering about this extraordinary event which stands at the heart of our faith. These resources can be used at a Dawn Service (see below for some photographic inspiration if you’ve never tried worship at Dawn!) or within a regular Easter Sunday Intergenerational Morning Service.
