Description
This week is the fourth and final week of Advent. Over the last three weeks, we’ve used different senses to help us prepare for the arrival of Jesus. This week’s resource provides activities and experiences that encourage us to feel. We may feel different emotions as we read the Bible and pray, or we may feel different sensations with our hands and bodies as we engage with the activities and themes.
The lectionary Bible readings this week are full of many different emotions and feelings. Through the ups and downs, and the joy and uncertainty of life, these readings remind us that God is in the story, our story, guiding, comforting, forgiving, and restoring. As you engage with the Bible readings, what do you feel? How does your body react? What does God want to reveal to you through those feelings?
Each of the weekly resources encourage people to take the time to identify, be aware of, and perhaps feel different emotions and sensations. Through emojis, embrace, tactile objects, and praise reflections, it is hoped that people will gain a deeper appreciation of how God has worked through their lives and the lives of those who’ve come before them.
