Description
It’s Christmas! A time when we celebrate the birth of Jesus and reflect on familiar themes of hope, peace, joy and love. These are all wonderful themes, but this Christmas, we are invited to focus on a less explored Christmas theme: Known.
This one word can mean many things. To know something is to understand or discover it. To be known is to be recognised, understood and seen for who you are. And to make something known is to share what was once hidden or unknown.
These ideas come together in the Christmas story. In Luke 2:8–20, ordinary shepherds suddenly become aware of extraordinary news as the angels announce Jesus’ birth. What was unknown is made known to them, and they go to see for themselves before returning, praising God and telling others what they have seen and heard. Through Jesus, God makes known more of who God is, revealing God’s love, presence and good news to the world.
The resources in this collection focus on the theme Known and explore what it means to know, to be known by God, and to make God’s love known to others. Through a mystery bag, a Wordle-style game, prayer and a creative activity, participants are invited to listen for what the Bible reveals about Jesus, reflect on what they know, and consider how they might respond. Together, the activities encourage curiosity, reflection and a deeper engagement with the good news of Jesus.
