Description
Last week, we continued our Advent journey by exploring what it means to get ready and prepare the way for Jesus. We heard the call to make space, clear what gets in the way and pay attention to what God is doing. This week, Advent moves us from preparation towards celebrating and sharing the good news.
The theme “Good News for All” runs through this week’s readings and activities. Through a funny yet challenging play, we explore who we think the Good News is for. In a joyful sharing activity, we take pieces of good news from the Bible readings and pass them on to one another. A Bible exploration activity invites us to listen closely for who the good news is for. Finally, through a creative prayer activity, we reflect on people who can sometimes be left out or overlooked and pray that God’s love would be known and welcomed by all.
Across these four all-age activities, we are invited to celebrate, share and reflect on the good news we hear in the Bible readings. Together, we will ask: Who is the Good News for, and what might it mean for us to share it with joy?
