Description
This is the second week of Advent. Last week, we reflected on the hope that God brings. This week, our focus is on peace.
As we look around the world, it’s easy to see the absence of peace. Conflict, political instability, inequality, and division are everywhere. Part of the struggle is how often we view each other through a lens of difference, labelling people as insiders or outsiders based on culture, beliefs, background, appearance, age, ability, or experience. Instead of building connection, we create distance. Instead of bridges, we build walls.
But God longs for something more.
This week’s bible readings offer a powerful vision of the peace God desires. We’ll focus on two passages: Isaiah 11:1–10 and Romans 15:4–13.
We’re invited to reflect on the places where peace feels far away – not to increase fear, but to grow in compassion, deepen understanding and ask: “Where is God already at work?” and “How can we join in bringing peace where it’s needed most?”
These creative, interactive resources are designed to help people of all ages consider where peace is missing and imagine how we can take part in God’s healing, welcoming, and unifying work in our lives, communities, and beyond.
