Description
In the readings for this week, from Galatians 6:1-16 and Luke 10: 1-11, 16-20, it’s all about doing things together or relying on others. Along with God, we need each other for support in life.
The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Being wise about who you can help. Helping those who show that they are ready to hear or receive what you have to offer. These are all ideas that come up in this week’s readings.
Many of the activities this week involve working in pairs. This fits with the disciples being sent out in pairs in Luke 10:1 and carrying each other’s burdens in Galatians 6:2.
Do Good, Reap a Harvest explores Galatians 6:1-16 with a dramatic reading to emphasise the main points, which is followed by a time of discussion in pairs.
Sent Out To Harvest gets everyone involved in the reading of Luke 10:1-111, 16-20 by having pairs each illustrate a verse of the reading which is then shared as the reading is read (and/or presented as a display to walk around before or after the reading). This can be followed by a discussion in pairs or small groups.
Working Together is a way to illustrate and emphasise the need to work together and to carry each other’s burdens.
Praying Together gives an opportunity for people to carry each other’s burdens through prayers.
