Description
Jesus, God’s son, has risen from the grave! The excitement of Easter is still being felt as people, all around the World, continue celebrating the resurrection of Jesus and the difference that makes for humanity.
But what was it like for the first Christians? Were they rejoicing and celebrating?
This week’s resources focus on Bible readings from John 20:19-31 and Acts 5:27-32, and on the theme ‘Before and After’. Through drama, discussions, art, prayer, and listening activities, we’ll reflect on how Jesus’ closest followers felt before and after they saw the risen Christ. We’ll hear how their doubts turned into belief, and how their fears turned into rejoicing and boldness, because of their encounters with Jesus.
We’ll also reflect on our own lives. How have our lives have been transformed because of Jesus? What fears may be holding us back from living the life God calls us to? What can we learn from the disciples ‘before and after’ stories?
